We are still alive —– but not motoring. We haven’t been blogging because a number of annoying interruptions have occurred. I believe we were in Columbus, MS the last time we posted anything. We got up early, had breakfast and prepared to depart. I forgot Diane was so literal when I said “ready for our trip, let’s go?”. So she tripped. This time it wasn’t the wrist. She broke her shoulder. We thought it might be just a bad bruise so we took off for Demopolis, AL By the time we got there, the pain was significant to we went to an urgent care clinic, had it x-rayed and confirmed the ball in the upper arm broke. They didn’t have an orthopedic doc in this small town. Luckily our daughter and son-in-law are medical professionals and live 3 1/2 hours away in Louisiana. They know all the doctors and made arrangements to get Diane in immediately. Jenny picked us up and we stayed at their house for a week. Diane is still there trying to get the bone to heal. I had to rent a car to drive back to Punta Gorda because of the other annoying interruption —-two hurricanes in two weeks. Lost my Miata, golf cart and a bunch of other stuff. I’m almost ready to rent a car and go retrieve our boat (and hopefully Diane) so we can finish our Great Loop. Stay tuned.
