Today is Father’s Day and coincidently our 51st anniversary. Being traditionally the ice-cream anniversary (or so I told Diane), I bought Diane a nice cup of chocolate ice-cream.
We left Colton Point this morning intending to go to tangier Island where the residents speak a unique English dialect that isn’t spoken anywhere else but the weather was predicted to turn bad (too windy) so we headed inland up a tributary of the Potomac to Leonardtown, MD. It’s a great town that welcomes boaters to stay at the free city Wharf with free electricity, water and pumpout. The walk from the wharf to the historic part of town is up a fairly steep hill but it was worth it. We visited the old 1800 circa jail and visited a few shops and a restaurant. We plan on staying a couple of days because Diane found out they have more than one ice-cream shop and a winery.
