Those of you who are following us using Nebo app may have noticed we haven’t been moving. I’m not saying we were in one place long but the birds nest in our tender is not empty and the little birds have grown and flew away. Also the ducks that were raising their young on our swim platform are enjoying themselves.
Well we disrupted all the creatures today around 3:30 when our generator was finally fixed and we began to move again. We headed West which was really North but who can tell with this crazy canal? We made it through a couple of locks and had to stop at lock 3 because the next lock closed at 6:00 and we wouldn’t make it through. So we grabbed a free slip at the lock and hiked up the hill (everything is up hill around here) to a nice restaurant to give Diane a break from my cooking. The pictures below are the slip and the dam falls. Not a typo. That’s the falls by the damn. Tomorrow at 8:00 the locks open so if I can get my first mate up, we will be the first ones through and headed to Oswego and then across Ontario after another 4 locks. As many locks as they have you would think somewhere they would have bagels.
