On Saturday, we left beautiful Sister Bay, WI (where they fixed our generator again) and motored down Lake Michigan to Kewaunee. I think that’s an old Winnebago Indian name for “not much going on here”. Today we left Kewaunee and slowly (rougher seas) motored toward Sheboygan, WI. On the way, we stopped at Manitowoc. I believe that’s Winnebago Indian for “we buildum boats here”. We visited the fantastic Maritime museum and toured the Cobia submarine. This stop was the highlight of our day for sure. Now at anchor in a supposedly protected harbor. The swells are pushed right into the harbor with the Southeast winds and we are rocking and bucking pretty heavy. Even the fisherman are complaining about the wind that is supposed to be out of the West but has been Southeast for a week. That makes for a much choppier ride.
Took a side trip to the Staute of Liberty which had been moved to Sister Bay,WI
Here’s a sign you won’t see in Florida. I remember some towns in Northern WI allow snow mobiles on all their streets in the winter.
Leaning out the door taking pictures of light houses all day.
