I guess there’s worse places than Sister Bay, WI to be stuck waiting for our generator to be repaired. Afterall, they have good beer and tonight we are going for a famous Lake Michigan fish fry.
It doesn’t get much more Wisconsin than this — except maybe Spotted Cow — which isn’t a porter or stout so I just dismiss that one.
Speaking of beer. Having a beer with my deer.
Have I mentioned Diane likes light houses?
Just another lazy day on the hook
We were in 12 feet of water and could clearly see our anchor and chain
We re-entered the U.S at Drummond Island so we could see some friends. We also ran across the Johnsons and Trasters who winter in Windmill Village but have absolutely beautiful houses up here on the island. We tied up to George and Debra’s dock for the night. They were kind enough to let us have the two bikes we ordered delivered to their house. After slight assembly (2 hours), we had ground transportation
Pat and Kathy gave us a tour of their house and a good part of the island which was a lot bigger than it looked on the chart. When we left the island, they followed us out in their tug ostensibly to go to breakfast at DeTour but were actually making sure we left the island.
Leaving Drummond
With Diane’s new bike
Stopped at Mackinac Island where it was cloudy and occasionally drizzling.
Where we biked all over the place
We haven’t seen cattails for years.
Dining with the wild beasts. The bear, NOT Diane
The last picture of Diane before she did a face plant on the concrete dock. Face, wrist and shoulder still in recovery mode.
